Peterson husband died at age 88

Peterson, originally Maggie Mancuso, spent more than 40 years in Las Vegas with her husband, the legendary guitarist Gus Mancuso. Greeley was where she grew up. After Gus died of Alzheimer’s in Las Vegas in December at the age of 88, Peterson returned to Colorado.

In 1968, Peterson met Mancuso while performing as an opening act for Andy Griffith at a Lake Tahoe casino. In 1978, Mancuso and Peterson married. Mancuso, her spouse, was a jazz musician. Mancuso was a bass player in a lounge act when he married and the two remained together till his death in 2021.

Peterson’s health had deteriorated since the death of her husband Gus, and she died on May 15, 2022.

Peterson died in her sleep on May 15, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, according to a statement from a family cousin who identified her as “Aunt Maggie.”
