On June 9, 1981, Allen Ludden died from stomach cancer in Los Angeles. They had no children of their own, but she is the stepmother of three children from her first marriage Margarete McClain Ludden, who again died of cancer in 1961. White’s first appearance in entertainment occurred in 1930, when she was eight years old, on an episode of the radio program Empire Builders, which first aired on December 22, 1930.
