Sanna Mirella Marin was chosen as her nominee for the new prime minister by the Finnish Social Democratic Party after Antti Rinne left his position as prime minister on 8 December 2019. Marin becomes the youngest current prime minister in the world, the youngest ever prime minister in Finland, and the fifth female prime minister in Finland.
