Sanna Mirella Marin was chosen as her nominee for the new prime minister by the Finnish Social Democratic Party after Antti Rinne left his position as prime minister on 8 December 2019. Marin was born in Helsinki on 16 November 1985, and before moving to Tampere, he lived in Espoo and Pirkkala. She graduated with a Bachelor of Administrative Sciences from the University of Tampere in 2017.
