Mastriano later served in the US Army Europe and the 3rd Infantry Division in Washington, DC. He retired in 2017 with the rank of colonel after ending his military service as a faculty member teacher in the Department of Military Strategy at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, from 2012 to 2017.
