Career and struggle of Daffney?

She was hired after responding to a World Championship Wrestling (WCW) contest looking for new talent in November 1999. Spruill managed David Flair and Crowbar in WCW as Daffney, David Flair’s mentally ill, besotted girlfriend. Vince Russo assigned Daffney to wrestle Miss Elizabeth in her first wrestling encounter on May 8, 2000. Daffney’s gimmicks included changing her hair color regularly, wearing t-shirts with strange phrases, and screaming loudly, the latter of which was suggested by chief WCW writer Ed Ferrara. Due to financial cuts, she released by WCW on February 2, 2001. A month later, WCW was purchased by its rival, the World Wrestling Federation.

Spruill chose to continue wrestling after being released from WCW, spending eight months at Dusty Rhodes’ Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling training camp in Kennesaw, Georgia.  In 2003, she worked for Xtreme Pro Wrestling as Lucy, Vic Grimes’ manager. She posed for a website run by wrestling superstars Francine and Missy Hyatt in June 2005. Spruill made her Shimmer Women Athletes debut as Daffney in April 2007. She gave an interview in which she stated that her goal was to return to what she did at the start of her career, which was management.

Daffney earned her only Women’s Championship on June 27, 2010, when she defeated Rachel Summerlyn in the first round of the 2010 American Joshi Queen of Queens Tournament held by Anarchy Championship Wrestling. Jessica James defeated her in the second round, and she lost the title.
