Cristiano Ronaldo’s Future: What’s Next? Europe, Asia, or Retirement?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Future: What’s Next? Europe, Asia, or Retirement?

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in the 2021/2022 English Premier League season. Man United agreed with Juventus to re-sign Ronaldo for an initial amount of one hundred and eighty-five million euros with a two-year contract and a chance for an optional year, bringing Ronaldo back into premier league predictions. The signing was confirmed on August 31st, 2021 when he was given the number seven shirt.

He has played for different football teams during his senior career and has achieved a lot as a football player, but unfortunately, he has not won the FIFA World Cup. He has gotten to the stage where he can retire anytime soon, so what is next for one of the greatest players in the history of football, as he currently has no contract with any football Club and won’t be among premier league picks

The Interview with Piers Morgan

Cristiano Ronaldo interviewed Piers Morgan, and he expressed his feelings about getting betrayed by the Red Devils. Also, he felt the Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, had no respect for him and believed he was being forced out of Old Trafford. The interview was shown on the 16th and 17th of November 2022, where the winner of 32 trophies spoke about many topics concerning the Club.

Ronaldo spoke about his own story about what he said was “the most difficult period of my life,” both at work and home. Ronaldo said if Ralf Rangnick was not even a coach, how could he be the boss of Manchester United, meaning he would never have heard of him. However, he was hardly more favourable, stating he said he could never have respect for him if the coach could not have respect for him.

The interview also touches his Ronaldo’s former Manchester United Colleague, Wayne Rooney, who commented about it. He has publicly attacked Ronaldo for months, so Ronaldo responded in the interview. He said he did not know why Rooney criticized him so badly, maybe because he finished his career and I am still playing. Morgan and Ronaldo also discuss the heartbreaking loss of their baby son.

Destroyed Relationships and Contract Termination

After the interview with Piers Morgan, Manchester United terminated the contract of the Portuguese star. He was told to leave the Club on a mutual agreement, which was done with immediate effect. The Club thanked him and wished him and his family well for his future. However, the interview destroyed many relationships, becoming a free agent after his contract was terminated.

Before, During, and After the World Cup with Portugal

The first time Ronaldo appeared in his international debut for Portugal was in 2003 at 18, earning over 190 caps, making him Portugal’s player with the most caps. He scored over 100 goals and is Portugal’s top scorer after playing in 11 major tournaments. As a young player, he scored his first goal at the Euro 2004 and helped Portugal reach the competition’s final.

He has won several individual honours with Portugal and was named the best player of Portugal in 2015. In 2016, he led the Portugal national team to their first major tournament title at Euro 2016, and he was the second-highest goalscorer of the tournament and received the Silver boot.

He was among Portugal’s 26 men’s squad at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The team had an incredible performance in the group-stage rounds, facing Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea. Then, they qualified for the Round of 16, where they met Switzerland, and they won by six goals to one. Unfortunately for Portugal, they got knocked out by the First African team to reach the semi-finals, Morocco.

Ronaldo scored just a single goal in the tournament. His performance is relatively poor, and we can see that age is telling in his body. We look forward to seeing which Club Cristiano Ronaldo will join since Manchester United terminated his contract on the eve of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Al Nassr Rumors

A transfer rumour was leaked that Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with one of the wealthiest Clubs in Saudi Arabia, Al Nassr. The story was spread immediately after he departed from Manchester United. The Club is ready to make him an ambassador after he retires with them, and the contract is a multi-year deal.

What’s Next for CR7?

CR7 is still a free agent after playing in the 2022 World Cup tournament. There is a rumour about the Al Nassr Club planning to sign the 37-year-old, and with his current age, he will undoubtedly retire with any club he joins. Ronaldo should be among the players factoring the top Premier League predictions today, but we might not see him play in the league again.
