Bobby Beathard cause of death: Beathard, who over the course of his extensive football career helped build four Super Bowl-winning teams for two distinct organizations, has passed away. He was 86. His son Casey said that he passed away on Monday at his home in Franklin, Tennessee on January 30, 2023, as a result of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Beathard is survived by his wife, Christine.

In just his third season in San Diego, the team earned its first division title in more than ten years and made its debut in the Super Bowl. In 2000, he announced his retirement.

Bobby Beathard played football for his high school team while attending El Segundo High School in El Segundo, California. Bobby Beathard attended Cal Poly after graduating from high school and played football there as a backup running back, starting quarterback, and defensive back. He earned a football scholarship to play for LSU in college, but after summer workouts he felt homesick and went back to his family.
