The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has attacked Kejriwal over the incident, claiming that the guilty should be held accountable. A BJP national spokeswoman named Shehzad Poonawalla, however, voiced worry about the absence of a formal complaint against Bibhav Kumar and charged Kejriwal with defending him. 

The event has led to conflict inside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and sparked debate about the party’s policies regarding the safety of women.
