Ms. Maria Serenella is reserved and prefers to avoid the limelight. She is a noblewoman (descendant of the wife of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Francesco de ‘Medici), but above all, she is an expert and passionate about English literature.

She graduated from the University of Vicenza with a degree in English literature and met Mario when they were both 19, on the Brenta Riviera in the summer of 1966, through mutual friends. The couple have two daughters together: Federica and Giacomo. The pair has been married for 49 years and their love has not changed. The Draghis reside in an attic in Rome’s Parioli area and have a very special dog: a Hungarian hound.

Giacomo, the second son, is married to Valentina Orneli, a nutritional therapist: the pair married in Umbria, with a reception in one of the family properties. Giacomo studied at Bocconi University and spent almost 13 years in the Morgan Stanley investment bank in New York before returning to Europe in May 2017 to work as a portfolio manager at LMR Partners, which specializes in investment management.

Mario and Serenella Draghi have two granddaughters, Federica’s kids, whom they adore.
