Bryony Frost Career Highlights

Frost’s love of horses developed early. Before going on to win numerous Devon and Cornwall pony racing championships, she learned how to ride a donkey. Her aptitude for horses was apparent from an early age.

In February 2013, Frost had her maiden ride under rules as an amateur after participating in point-to-point races. After two years, she rode the Current Event at Musselburgh to win her maiden race under rules. She started riding for trainer Paul Nicholls in 2016.

Riding Pacha Du Polder (trained by Nicholls), Frost won the Foxhunter Chase at the 2017 Cheltenham Festival as an amateur jockey.

In July 2017, she became a professional jockey and won her first race as a conditional rider on Black Corton, who was also trained by Nicholls.

Notably, Frost became just the second British female jockey to win a top-tier event over obstacles when she and Black Corton triumphed in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, 2017. Together with Frodon, she won the Grade 2 Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham, the Grade 3 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Aintree, and the Grade 2 Old Roan Chase at Aintree.

Frost and Frodon won the Ryanair Chase in March 2019, becoming the first female winner of a Grade 1 event at the Cheltenham Festival. Riding Greanaeteen to win in the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on December 4, 2021, Bryony Frost added yet another incredible accomplishment to her career.
