Robert A. Baffert was born in Nogales, Arizona, on January 13, 1953. He is currently a handsome 69-year-old man. Baffert grew up on his family’s ranch in Nogales, Arizona, where they raised cattle and chickens. When he was 10, his father bought some Quarter Horses and raced them on a dirt track. When he was in his teens, he worked as a jockey for $100 per day in informal Quarter Horse races on the outskirts of Nogales.
