According to a 911 call made public by the St. George Police Department, on August 30, Franke’s 12-year-old son fled through a window of Hildebrandt’s home in the southern Utah community of Ivins. He urged a neighbor to contact the police. The youngster had duct tape wrapped around his wrists and ankles and was skinny and covered in cuts. According to a search request, he informed authorities that Hildebrandt tied ropes around his limbs and dressed his cuts with honey and chili pepper.

Hildebrandt entered a plea agreement that detailed “physical torture” and “severe emotional harm” inflicted on the children discovered by police in a Utah court. Judge John Walton accepted the arrangement and dismissed the other two counts. Similar to Franke’s, her sentencing is set for February 20.
