How did Aydin Brown go to Germany on a Caribbean Princess cruise ship?

Aydin Brown, a 14-year-old American boy, was on a 12-day cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess. The cruise traveled the Baltic Sea, with destinations including Copenhagen, Denmark, and Stockholm, Sweden. 

The roundtrip cruise began in Southampton, England, on June 30 and was scheduled to return on July 12. During the cruise, Aydin left the ship after it docked at the German port of Rostock-Warnemünde on Thursday morning.

In the course of the three days that Aydin Brown was gone, both law enforcement and representatives of the cruise line made many efforts to find him.
